The Barista is considered an expert in coffee and related beverages, and this project focuses on coffee as a tourism product with significant potential for the industry. The aim is to provide training and education for Baristas, a simple handbook, and a digital platform to connect professionals in partner countries. The project is eco-friendly and emphasizes green practices in coffee preparation and waste management.
This project is highly innovative and contributes to meeting the gap, needs, and goals in the Barista domain, especially in the participating countries from the West Balkan region. There are limited training possibilities and no developed quality criteria or certification mechanisms for Baristas in these countries. However, coffee and coffee beverages are considered high-potential tourism products. The training concept will revitalize local economies, create new jobs, and make the hospitality sector more attractive to the young population in participating organizations. The use of modern IT tools in education is highly innovative, and this project will provide numerous benefits, including faster delivery of knowledge, lower costs, and lower environmental impact.
The expected impact of the project will be highly positive, with primary and secondary long-term effects produced by all project activities, directly or indirectly. This includes increased skills and competencies in the field of Barista, improved intercultural and language skills, increased digital skills, improved employability skills, increased motivation for participation in other hospitality-related trainings, and better understanding of EU common values, standards, and networks. The project will also improve the capacity within organizations to transfer and implement good practice, create a more extensive network of international partners, and improve operational capacities to organize training in this field.
